HERdacity is a registered 501c3 nonprofit women’s leadership organization. We seek to connect, promote, and empower women to seize opportunities for fulfillment and impact.
We bring women together from all walks of life, regardless of political affiliation, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Members are encouraged to communicate their unique experiences and authentically share in a supportive environment.

Based in Austin, TX, HERdacity was founded in 2015 by Susan Combs, a former Texas Comptroller. Combs broke down barriers as the first woman elected to the position of Commissioner of the Texas Department of Agriculture in 1998. In founding HERdacity, her vision was “to dare women to be the women they want to be and achieve the dreams of their own lives.”
Mary Flanagan, HERdacity’s current President, and her core team specialize in women’s leadership, economic empowerment, and work/life balance for women. They bring skills from the tech, retail, finance, health, marketing and nonprofit industries.

Mary is a passionate advocate for women’s leadership with a strong track record in both business and nonprofit leadership. She is a former Strategy and Marketing executive with experience in Fortune 500 companies and consulting. Prior to joining HERdacity, Mary was the Director of Business Planning & Analytics in Dell’s multi-billion-dollar Retail segment. As a key member of Dell’s Retail team over her five years at Dell, Mary led strategy and marketing initiatives to grow Dell sales to big box and technology chain retailers selling PC and peripherals.
Mary also has a longstanding interest in the nonprofit world. While at Dell, she was an active leader in Dell’s Legacy of Good initiative where she drove Powering the Possible volunteer engagement for Dell’s 1000+ member Consumer and Small Business group. In 2015, Mary was selected to lead Dell’s PRIDE community global pillar to drive LGBT diversity and inclusion. Dell earned the Human Rights Campaign Foundation “Best Place to Work” for LGBT 2016, 2017.
Prior to Dell, Mary led the strategic planning process as Manager, Corporate Strategy at Staples, Inc. and performed strategy projects to drive profitability and streamline costs in sales, merchandising and logistics/operations. Mary has several years of consulting in Deloitte’s International Lending Agencies group where she focused on World Bank and USAID funded projects in developing countries. Mary currently serves as Trustee for the University High School, a sober high school serving adolescents in recovery. She has an MBA from the Wharton School and a BA from Williams College.

Named one of the 100 Women Leaders in STEM by STEMconnector, Tricia Berry leads efforts to advance gender equity in the Cockrell School of Engineering as Director of the Women in Engineering Program at The University of Texas at Austin. She concurrently serves as Collaborative Lead for the Texas Girls Collaborative Project (TxGCP), leading the dissemination of STEM best practices and informal curriculum across Texas in coordination with the National Girls Collaborative Project. Through both roles, she connects and supports organizations and individuals working to advance gender equity in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields across Texas and beyond.
In other STEM work, Tricia leads the Greater Austin STEM Ecosystem and Million Women Mentors – Texas while also serving on various community and school STEM-related advisory boards and committees. Previously, Berry worked as a Process Engineer and a Product Development Engineer at The Dow Chemical Company in Freeport, Texas.
In her “outside of STEM” work, Tricia is the co-author of You Can’t Eat Your Degree: Combine Your Passions and Philosophies to Create the Story of Your Future and Exceeds Expectations: Take Control of Your Performance Review. Tricia holds a BS Chemical Engineering degree and an MBA, is the mom of 2 high school boys, and is married to another chemical engineer.
Terri Broussard Williams
Terri Broussard Williams believes leaders turn moments into movements. Throughout her accomplished career as a broadcast journalist, press secretary for a US Senate Candidate, philanthropist, and lobbyist, Williams has turned public and community service into a professional art-form that has positively impacted millions of lives.
For nearly fifteen years, Terri has made the American Heart Association (AHA) her career home. Her journey at this notable organization sparked her dream of creating significant, community-shifting outcomes. She counts some of the pieces of legislation passed as some of her most distinguished accomplishments, including The Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act, a game-changing career milestone she experienced at the flourishing age of 28.
Broussard Williams received her bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and is also a graudate of the social impact strategy executive education program at the University of Pennsylvania. She also serves on several boards including the Austin Area Urban League, the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Engagement and The Association of Junior Leagues International among others.

Beth grew up in a small East Texas town of 2,500 and experienced what it means to be supported by a “village”. There was always someone to give her advice or encouragement. She had a wonderful education experience and grew up believing she could accomplish anything.
Still, despite having confidence and caring people to turn to, like most adolescents, there were things she tried to handle on her own. Having an unbiased, anonymous resource of trusted advice – like the advice given by OneSeventeen’s products – would have been very helpful.
In 1996, Beth helped found an Internet professional services firm – the fastest growing private company in Houston from 1996-1999. In 1999, the IPO they created with a $158M valuation and 1200 employees helped fund her first social enterprise.
From 2000-2008, they produced online interactive tools to help 200 schools and 500,000 kids develop their character skills. Her fourth venture with co-founder Amy Looper, OneSeventeen Media, helps kids self-discover to make sense of their world with mobile tools – ThinkingApp™ (PreK-2nd) and reThinkIt! ™(3rd – 12th).
As the first Texas Certified B Corp in 2009, Beth spends a lot of time mentoring companies interested in becoming certified. She has served as a B Corp Ambassador since 2016. In 2017, OneSeventeen converted to a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation.
Beth has an MBA – Abilene Christian University in Marketing and a BBA – Sam Houston State in Marketing. She enjoys her two amazing sons and two grandchildren and mentoring University of Texas McCombs students in social entrepreneurship in her spare time.
Joann Getchell is an accomplished Human Resources and Organizational Development professional with more than 25 years of experience in U.S. and international consulting and corporate environments.
As a senior consultant with Towers Watson, she designed total pay strategies and performance management processes for clients in a wide variety of industry sectors including not-for-profit, technology, energy, financial services, and insurance. She also developed an “HR Best Practice” line of business where she worked with clients to assess and refine their HR policies and programs to address strategies around employee engagement, organizational growth and development and challenges related to merger and acquisition activity. Her not-for-profit clients included Road Scholar, Oxfam America and various hospitals and universities. Joann has consulted to global clients such as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Little Brown Publishing, Unum Corporation and Textron.
Joann’s corporate experience is with Ziff Davis and IBM Corporation in a variety of senior HR executive roles. At ZD, she guided the organization through many mergers, acquisitions and restructuring in its publishing and internet businesses to ensure employee and company interests were considered in the resulting new structure. In recognition of Ziff Davis’ innovative wellness initiatives, she was honored to accept an award from the State of Massachusetts recognizing corporate efforts in balancing workplace and family. At IBM, Joann held a variety of HR positions and led diversity efforts for their semiconductor sector. She was a frequent speaker at Society of Women Engineer forums and university career panels across the country.
More recently, Joann has been very active with consulting to Austin area clients including several educational and health related not-for-profits.She volunteers her time with organizations that promote the health and well being of women and children in our community. She’s proud to have worked with amazing local groups such as Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Capital Area Food Bank, and Legacy of Giving, and is honored to serve on the Board of Directors of wonderful organizations such as HERdacity and Candlelight Ranch. Joann received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Human Development and Sociology from Colby College and a Master of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
In all these roles, Joann has remained passionate about promoting opportunities for women, from acting as a career mentor in her professional life to lobbying for funding for women’s sports, including being the founding member of several women’s sports teams, during her academic years. She continues to be an advocate for promoting dialogue among women, having learned the importance of beginning the process of change and goal achievement with open discussions and support among peers.
Joann has been married to her college soulmate for more than 30 years and is the very proud mom of a daughter who is discovering her own passions and path in college. Together, they all love spending time traveling, supporting theater and dance, and of course , watching as much baseball and college football they can!
Sapna Aggarwal, CELC, MBC, CPC is a Certified Life, Mindset, Leadership & Small Business Coach and an Austin Networking, Marketing & LinkedIn Educator.
Sapna runs I Choose Bold, which was born out of the philosophy that a woman needs to make bold choices in her life in order to find her authentic voice in her personal or professional life. She may know her purpose or direction in life or she may need to help finding it. Sapna helps her step out of fear and procrastination into a mindset of reflection, self-knowledge and consistent action based on her core values. In addition, she helps her connect to her mind that determines how she sees herself and the world outside of her.
She helps her evaluate the choices she is making and gain clarity and confidence. As a master business coach, Sapna knows the value of this personal inventory helps her create a signature brand for her business or her career. She teaches women about “a business of one” mindset and personal branding. leveraging social media platforms such as LinkedIn to advance in their goals. Sapna offer individual and small group workshops and customized coaching packages.
Laura Bowen is a Realtor with HER Realtors based in Columbus Ohio. Prior to HER Realtors, Laura was the Director of Applications & Systems at Victoria Secret Catalog where she managed IT applications teams and advised on IT strategy input in the Senior Leadership team’s technology planning process.
Laura has nearly a decade of experience as the Director of Systems and systems consulting with companies in the NYC area, including Lillian Vernon, and client companies of Arthur Andersen Consulting in NYC.
Laura is an active community volunteer and has supported nonprofit management and fundraising in and around the Columbus, Ohio community for nearly 20 years. She has a BA from Rice University with a major in Business Administration and Management.
Steve is a SVP, Client Services, at Decision Analyst – a strategic research and analytics firm. He has been in the industry for more than twenty years, studying consumers and how they live, work, and shop. His greatest “successes” come from uncovering unmet needs and guiding companies and organizations in developing products, services, and experiences to meet those needs, for the betterment of all included. Steve has conducted quantitative and qualitative research with a variety of for- and non-profit entities, from Fortune 100 to smaller, issue-focused groups.
Steve holds an MBA degree from Loyola Marymount University and his work has been featured in several industry publications. Outside of his professional engagements, he seeks opportunities to apply his experiences to issues of interest, hoping to make greater “real-life” contributions to society. He can often be found at his church home, Good Shepherd Lutheran, or fishing the streams of California’s Sierra Nevada mountains.
Debbie Cartwright has not shied away from complex or intricate issues during a more than 20 year career marked by achievement and recognized public service in the areas of property tax law, litigation and policy matters related to appraisal districts and school district property values in the State of Texas. Debbie has received a number of awards from the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts (TAAD), including their highest honor, the Earl Luna Award, in 2016. In addition, Debbie received the Wayne Peveto Award from the Texas Real Estate Center in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Texas property tax system in 2013.
Prior to completing a law degree at the University of Houston, Debbie earned her master’s of public affairs from the LBJ School at The University of Texas at Austin, a bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University in secondary education in the areas of music and history, and a special education certification from The University of Texas at Austin. Debbie has navigated her way through contentious legal issues with skill, tact, and a whopping success rate.
A native of Elgin, Texas, Debbie is a member of the Elgin High School Alumni Association and the Elgin Historical Association. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Austin and serves as a trustee for her alma mater Howard Payne University. Debbie enjoys attending classical music concerts and traveling the world, and she is the proud aunt of three nieces and three nephews.
Glenna Devonport graduated from Texas State University in 2008. She spent the first 10 years of her career working in healthcare sales and operations. In 2017, after the birth of her first child, Glenna decided to step away from the corporate world and found herself as the Operations Manager for HERdacity. In 2019, Glenna had an opportunity to step back into her career and is now responsible for Business Development at Square One Consultants, an owner’s representation for Construction Company. Glenna was invited to stay involved with HERdacity and now serves on the Advisory Council. She enjoys traveling, reading, being active and spending time with her family and friends.
Founder and CEO of Intag Consulting, Theresia Intag created a unique recruiting business that specializes in fractional recruiting services. With over 10 years of recruiting & Human Resource experience, Theresia is well versed in matching great people to the right job. Theresia has worked with Samsung, Bazaarvoice, Yeti Coolers, Abaco, ForeFlight, Dimensional Fund Advisors, Spanning Cloud, Holtzman Partners and many other organizations to build their talent pool. Theresia is a working mom that appreciates the value of flexible work environments, and juggling work and family. Theresia currently lives in Austin, TX, is a fan of live music, travel adventures with her family and paddle boarding.
Julia is the former owner, President & CEO of House Call Doctors, operating primary care and value based complex population management contracts for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, ACO’s and Community Hospitals across the Austin, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston and San Antonio markets. House Call Doctors was awarded an Independence at Home Medicare Demonstration site.
In 2015 Julia sold House Call Doctors to Kindred Healthcare, the national leader in integrated post-acute services and joined the organization as Divisional Vice President of Innovation and Growth for Kindred House Calls. In 2016, Julia returned to consulting specializing in Home Based Primary Care merger & acquisitions, strategy, value based contracting and operations.
Prior to joining House Call Doctors, Julia worked as an accounting and operations consultant. Julia’s vision to improve patient care and reduce health care expenditures has led to post-acute transition programs, ACO participation and multiple performance based complex management partnerships.
In 2018 Julia retired and now enjoys spending time with her family, friends and traveling. She also is involved with different organization where she can bring her passion and experience to help benefit the organizations she is passionate about. Julia received her degree from Texas A&M and earned her CPA in 1985.
Francesca Kimbell is a Marketing Consultant, with 15 years of experience working in Marketing and Business Development. Fran is the mother of two young girls and now lives in Austin, TX.
Fran started her career at Dell in London, for the EMEA marketing group. After six years in various marketing roles at the computer giant, Fran moved to New York City and joined Digital Marketing Agency Bourne to run their Client Services. Three years later, the journey west continued, taking Fran and her husband Jeff to San Francisco. Fran joined creative agency DDB to run business development for the West Coast. After becoming a mother in 2013, Fran worked with various start-up companies as a consultant and advisor, most recently served as CMO for global design agency Beyond.
Fran is happiest when outside; she loves hiking, traveling and exploring with her family.

Tzatzil LeMair is a first generation Mexican-American cross-cultural marketer, entrepreneur, community leader, and the mother of four boys. She is currently heading Content Marketing at Sensis, an advertising agency headquartered in Los Angeles where she specializes in digital marketing and bilingual story-telling. She began her advertising career 20 years ago working in media planning at Young & Rubicam in London and later as Associate Media Director at DMB&B in New York where she led media teams on blue-chip clients such as Procter & Gamble and Burger King.
LeMair and her husband moved to Austin in 2000 to work at a startup and start a family. In 2002 following her passion for endurance sports, she founded Tough Cookie Fitness, an award-winning multi-sport company devoted to promoting women’s health throughout Texas. During her 15-year tenure, her all-female staff helped hundreds of women achieve their fitness goals and raised tens of thousands in funds for local charities through women-only multi-sport events.
In 2016 LeMair turned her attention to Texas politics when she discovered the great need to fight voter apathy, especially among Hispanics. This led to her involvement as a precinct chair and more recently being elected State Hispanic Caucus Committeewoman for the Texas Democratic Party where she is currently serving her first term.
LeMair lives in Austin, TX with her husband and four sons. She is happiest when she’s traveling the world with her adventure-loving clan or simply hiking the hill country. LeMair is a four-time Ironman finisher and has raced over 25 marathons. She has an MBA in Marketing and an MS in Media Management from Boston University, and a BFA from New York University.
Lisa Rothfus is an LCSW and an experienced therapist who has worked with individuals, couples, and families for over 30 years. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Simmons School of Social Work in Boston, Massachusetts in 1989, where she interned at two different Harvard teaching hospitals.: Mclean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital . She did post master’s training in Structural Family Therapy at Cambridge Family Institute, and has work in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings over the course of her 30+ year career. In 2008 she created a program called KidKonnect in which she designed and implemented numerous parenting workshops and teacher trainings in the Austin area.
Currently she specializes in Parental Alienation, Reunification, and Reintegration therapy with families experiencing high conflict divorces. She works with family members through all stages of divorce and custody related issues. She has worked as a Guardian Ad Litem in Travis, Hayes, and Williamson counties, and is a trained mediator and Parent Facilitator/Coordinator. In addition she is a trained and credentialed Mental Health professional for Collaborative Divorce and serves on the Board of Austin Collaborative Divorce. She has attended numerous specialized trainings for Reunification therapy which include Amy Baker- Restoring Families Connection ,Linda Gottlieb LCSW & Dr. Steve Miller on Parental Alienation, and Alyson Jones, – Moving Families Forward Training out of Canada.
Lisa holds a Masters degree in Social Work, Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Education with teaching certificates in Texas and Massachusetts. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Texas, license #20292.
Susan Combs founded HERdacity as a way to provide empowerment and inspiration for women from all walks of life. Susan serves as a role model for women’s leadership as a career public servant and is a powerful advocate for women across the nation. She has transformed state agencies and produced efficient and transparent government throughout her roles in public office.
Susan also has decades of interest and advocacy for children, whether related to their health or education. As a business leader, Combs has managed her cattle ranching operation for more than 30 years on land in the Big Bend area of Texas that has been in her family since 1882.
For her work in helping combat childhood obesity, she was featured in the HBO multi-part series, The Weight of the Nation, as well as numerous newspapers and TV programs. Susan also talks on best practices and knows how to bring out peak performance in both business and government. Her articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal and Susan has been featured on Fox Business and Fox News.
